Voxer Alternatives

Who didn't have Voxer in 2015 and love the nostalgic brrrink of an old Nextel phone? 

Unfortunately those days are gone and users have been pouring into our inboxes at Yac asking us to fix what Voxer has forgotten about.

Where did Voxer go wrong? It was a consumer app last I saw and they had completely replaced construction workers' walkie talkies. Now they provide one click phone calls for teachers.


The first review on the App Store is by Riceaa saying that notification badges won't disappear, forcing them to move the Voxer icon to another page to avoid distraction. Second, the message are flawed with inaccurate time lengths or take a long time to load. Finally, and most importantly for 2019, the Airpods integration is broken at its core, forcing them to quickly adjust the volume since Voxer outputs audio much higher volumes in Airpods for some reason.

I set out on a mission to find alternatives to Voxer to keep the educators who have been searching for an answer, happy.
